Signing in
- You can browse and plan as a guest. Sign in (email or Apple) to sync trips, favourites and settings across devices.
- Use a physical iPhone for Sign in with Apple; it can be unreliable on the Simulator.
- Make sure you’re online when signing in.
Saved trips & sync
- Sign in to save trips and favourites to your account. Guests plan locally on the device.
- Data syncs when you open the app or return from the background.
Places catalogue updates
The app checks for new destinations on launch and when you bring it back to the foreground — no reinstall needed. Most users receive updates automatically.
Trip reminders
- Enable notifications in iOS Settings → DayOut.
- Turn on trip reminders in Profile → Notifications.
- Reminders fire the evening before an upcoming saved trip.
Location & notifications
Manage permissions in iOS Settings → DayOut. In the app, Profile shows your location status and links to Settings when access is denied.
Costs & weather
Trip costs and weather are estimates for planning only. Always check official venue and transport websites before travelling.
About DayOut
Core features are free — no subscription and no ads.
Running the app still costs money (hosting, weather, and maps data). If DayOut helps you plan a good day out, an optional tip helps keep it going: Support DayOut.
Delete your account
Signed-in users: open the DayOut app → Profile → Account & privacy → Delete account.
This permanently removes your cloud account, saved trips, favourites, visited places, profile photo, and settings. It cannot be undone. If you can’t access the app, email hello@thedayout.app from the address linked to your account and we’ll process your request.
